Minneapolis family photographer,
I’m a red-headed, giggly book, coffee, cozy games, and plant lover living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with my husband, Carl-Erik, our 6-month-old daughter, Lyra, and our fluffy orange cat, Oliver.
I’m an English major turned family and newborn photographer, as well as a full-time preschool teacher, with a degree from Gustavus Adolphus College (class of 2020). I fell in love with photography back in high school, but it wasn’t until taking photography classes in college that I started dreaming of building this little business of mine.
And here I am, years later, living that dream - getting to document the little moments that make up a family’s story. The belly laughs, the tiniest details, the quiet cuddles, the beautiful chaos, and all the in-between moments that are so easy to overlook, but mean everything. My goal is to create a space where families can feel comfortable being exactly who they are, while I capture the love, connection, and joy that make their story uniquely theirs.
Vision
The name Freckled & Framed Photography comes from something very personal to me - my freckles. As a child with freckled skin and red hair, I often felt a little out of place. Over time, though, I learned that those differences were never something to hide. They were part of what made me, me.
That perspective has shaped the way I photograph families. I believe the most meaningful images aren't about perfection. They're about celebrating the little things that make your family uniquely yours. The quiet moments, the joyful ones, the quirks, the personalities, and the genuine connection you share are what I hope you'll remember long after this season has passed.
Image Style
My style is authentic and documentary, with gentle guidance and direction. While capturing images I take an honest and relaxed approach, leading with prompts over poses to capture my clients true selves. I feel that posing can sometimes feel intimidating and prompts loosen the mood and allow the real emotions to shine!
My editing style is warm, but true to color to achieve a timeless and authentic look.
Snap! Fun facts you didn’t see coming
Born and raised in Minnesota, I’m proud to call this beautiful state home. There’s nothing like a perfect snowy day, hockey games (I played for 15 years!), and lazy summer afternoons spent on the lake. If I could live anywhere, it would be in a cozy cottage in Iceland, surrounded by waterfalls, wildflowers, and glaciers. I was lucky enough to spend a month there during college, and I never wanted to leave! If photography and teaching preschool didn’t steal my heart, I’d probably be a veterinarian or zookeeper. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me curled up on the couch snuggling with my baby and cat, lost in a video game, diving into a romance novel, hanging out with friends, or cheering on Minnesota sports teams. My comfort movies and shows? Definitely Twilight, Gilmore Girls, Little House on the Prairie, and let’s be real, I’ve watched every episode of Friends at least five times. My spirit animal is an otter, and cheesy fries are the way to my heart.
