It's me, hi! I'm the photographer it's me.
Hi, I'm Corbyn Young and I am the owner & photographer of Freckled & Framed and I am so excited that you're here! I figured there wasn't a better way to start off the blog than introducing myself.
It was back in high school that I first fell in love with photography in my IB art class. I mainly photographed friends and family and then made way into the local music scene. I focused on music photography for the next few years and eventually was able to cover some of my favorite artists as they toured through the Twin Cities. My first big show I photographed was Chance the Rapper at Xcel Energy Center. On the day, the house photographer, Joe, said to me "While photographing the show, make sure to pause and take a moment to just look around and take it all in. Your first big show is one you will never forget," and I still haven't. To this day concert/music photography is one of my favorite hobbies.
In 2020, I graduated with an English degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. My college didn't offer a photography major, however I took every photography class offered through the art program and that's when I really discovered that I could possibly do photography full-time. Fast-forward to spring of 2022, and I am doing it and loving every second!
Now, just a little more about me! I am a red-headed giggly coffee and plant lover who currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Carl-Erik and our spunky orange cat, Oliver.
Carl-Erik and I got married this past June and after changing my last name I decided it was time for my re-brand which is when and why Freckled & Framed Photography came about.
Why Freckled and Framed? Well, I have A LOT of freckles and they just happen to be one of my favorite things about myself. They are one of my defining traits and I feel five me a little extra pinch of character and add to my quirky personality. Also, no two freckles are the same, each is unique and beautiful, and deserve to be seen, just like people. My ultimate goal while photographing is to capture my client's natural beauty, unique personality, and frame it all together with a focus on the perfectly imperfect candid moments.
Lastly, when I’m not behind the camera I enjoy being cozied up on the couch watching Friends or Gilmore Girls or playing video games. I also enjoy growing my plant collection, finding the best coffee shops, exploring book stores, and going to an abundance of concerts.
